Kent Hospital’s Leonard receives second fellowship

WARWICK – Kent Hospital’s Dr. Polly E. Leonard has been recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine for achieving her second fellowship for its National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (NAOME), and was also elected vice-chairperson of the Society of Osteopathic Medical Educators.

The 2015-2019 Fellowship in Teaching/Evaluation is in addition to her existing Fellowship in Educational Leadership. NAOME fellows are inducted into the Academy each year to serve a five-year term. As fellows, inductees function as leaders and mentors for academic scholarship and excellence within the osteopathic medical education community.

Leonard is board certified in both family medicine and neuromusculoskeletal medicine. She is a clinical associate professor at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM), the sponsoring partner of Kent Hospital’s graduate medical education program. UNECOM has been recognized among the top medical schools in the nation for leadership in rural medicine, geriatrics and primary care training.
