Kent Radiation Therapy receives distinguished accreditation

WARWICK – Kent Radiation Therapy has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in radiation oncology, after a recent review by the American College of Radiology. Kent Radiation Therapy, a 21st Century Oncology affiliate and a joint venture between Care New England and CharterCARE Health Partners, is Kent County’s only ACR-accredited radiation oncology facility.

The ACR seal of accreditation represents the highest level of quality and patient safety. Experts in the field perform a peer-review evaluation and award the accreditation only to facilities meeting specific ACR practice guidelines and technical standards, according to a statement from Kent Radiation Therapy. Patient care and treatment, patient safety and quality assurance programs are among the criteria assessed and then reported to the ACR Committee on Radiation Oncology Accreditation.

“We are honored that the ACR has recognized our dedication to patient care and awarded our center this accreditation,” Dr. Angela DeRobertis, a radiation oncologist with Kent Radiation Therapy, said in a statement. “Our facility will continue to uphold the strict quality control standards that earned us the accreditation.”
Kent Radiation Therapy, which will hold the ACR Accreditation through March 2019, is at 450 Toll Gate Road. For more information, visit 21co.com/rhodeisland.
