Kent gets Ronald McDonald grant

WARWICK – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England recently presented a $16,000 grant to Kent Hospital to purchase neonatal equipment to help improve the care of newborns in the hospital’s nursery.
Kent Hospital, Rhode Island’s second largest provider of maternal and child care services, offers a “Level II” nursery in its Women’s Care Center. The hospital delivers more than 1,000 babies a year and offers the only community-hospital based special care nursery in the state.
Michael J. Dacey, the hospital’s president and chief operating officer, welcomed the contribution.
“With this funding we can continue to update and advance our clinical capabilities in caring for newborns,” Dacey said. “We are honored to receive this grant and to continue our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities.”
For 28 years, RMHC has created, identified and supported programs which directly improve the health and well-being of thousands of local children and families every year, said Karen McEachern, executive director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England.
“We are proud to support Kent Hospital in Rhode Island,” she said. “They make a difference in babies’ lives at a critical time. This is the second grant we have given to Kent Hospital to support their mission of bringing quality medical care to children and families.”
