WARWICK – Kent Hospital’s education department is offering a comprehensive course in medical terms and conditions. The course, which runs from Jan. 21 – March 13 on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., is open to newcomers to health care, people interested in preparing for a career or for anyone who wants a better understanding of medical words.

“We offer this course on a regular basis and always find a great deal of interest,” said Kent Hospital senior education specialist Ray Thurber. “We explain how medical words are formed, define diseases, tests and procedure terms by body system and also include some basic information on anatomy and abbreviations.”

The fee is $120; Care New England employees or family members are eligible for a 50 percent discount.

Thurber said that the class is limited in size so that personal attention can be given to each student’s needs. •
