BOSTON – Koch Eye Associates, with seven locations throughout Rhode Island, was sold last month, according to Ophthalmology Times.

It was sold to a private equity firm, Candescent Partners, for an undisclosed sum. Koch provides services ranging from basic optometry to Lasik surgery.

“Candescent has a strong track record of successfully building and growing health care services enterprises,” said Peter Koch, who will remain CEO of Koch after the transaction is completed. “I look forward to working with them to build the premier vision care services company in New England.”

Peter Koch as well as Paul Koch and Patricia Koch will remain active in the business, the publication said.

“We anticipate continuing to grow the business through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions,” said Sandy McGrath, managing partner of Candescent Partners.
