Law firm awards Ramus scholarship

EAST PROVIDENCE – The personal injury law firm of d’Oliveira & Associates, based in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, has awarded George Washington University Law School student Michelle Ramus its annual 2015 scholarship.
Ramus won the $1,000 scholarship by participating in a company contest and submitting a 500-word essay persuading young people on the dangers of drinking and driving.
“Ms. Ramus’s essay was chosen because her writing kept you captivated from the introduction to the closing words. She did a fantastic job of matching her writing style so that the message would be meaningful and have an impact with young and seasoned drivers alike,” said Tom d’Oliveira, law firm administrator.

In addition to being a Juris Doctor candidate for the Class of 2018 at George Washington University Law School, Ramus has spent time in South Africa with the Peace Corps and resides in Washington, D.C.
The d’Oliveira & Associates college scholarship essay contest gives students pursuing a career in the legal field help in offseting some of the financial pressures of paying for a college education.
