Leadership SouthCoast seeks applicants

DARTMOUTH – Leadership SouthCoast, a nonprofit entity within the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts that focuses on leadership development for positive change, is accepting applications for its class that begins this October.
The nine-month program involves one full-day retreat, six full-day sessions on regional issues including education and economic development, and two full-day leadership workshops as well as work on a team project.
Tuition is $2,250. Leadership SouthCoast extends need-based tuition assistance to employees of nonprofit organizations and for-profit companies with less than 50 employees.
“There are now 175 graduates who have benefited from Leadership SouthCoast and they are easily recognized as active and dedicated leaders in organizations, projects, and initiatives throughout the SouthCoast,” said Jennifer Downing, chair of the board of directors of Leadership SouthCoast, in a statement.
Participants explore and discuss local issues with regional leaders, learn about challenges that affect the area, and strategize possible solutions.
The program strives to develop committed, knowledgeable and action-oriented people to serve as catalysts in promoting positive change in helping to make the South coast a better place to live, work, and visit.
