LeanBox to provide food service for Gilbane

PROVIDENCE – LeanBox, a startup based in Boston that packages healthy and fresh foods for workplaces, recently entered the Providence market with a contract to provide its refrigeration units to Gilbane Building Co.
Gilbane, which has 160 employees in its corporate headquarters in Providence, will install a LeanBox sometime in the next several weeks, according to Pierre LaPierre, senior vice president, corporate director, of human resources.
The glass-door refrigerators allow employees to see the food, open the door and more closely examine the item, he said. Employees use a swipe card to scan and purchase items.
