Lucy Brown’s City Social & Kitchen announces move to Irons & Russell Building

PROVIDENCE – A restaurant has announced it will locate in the ground level floor of the Irons & Russell Building, which is being converted to residential apartments, the 95 Lofts.

A small sign announced “coming soon” for Lucy Brown’s City Social & Kitchen. The renovation of the restaurant space is ongoing.

In a Sept. 20, 2016 notice to the city of Providence Board of Licenses, Trinitas Inc. applied for a liquor license to do business in the location as Lucy Brown’s.

The restaurant will include retro stylings and a pub with an extensive mid-range menu that caters to all demographics, wrote John Butler, an owner based in East Greenwich. The décor will preserve as much of the existing architectural elements as possible. No entertainment license is sought.

“We are hoping to capture some of its predecessor glory, the famous Leo’s,” the application letter states. “A favorite with politicians, writers, poets and the like.”
