“Everyone fixes PCs, servers and networks, but we work to get our clients to the next level,” said Rick Norberg, president of Warwick-based Atrion SMB, an LLC-organized joint venture between Atrion and Rhode One Technology Solutions. Of those clients, he said, “They grow; [we] grow. It’s a very symbiotic relationship.”
The company, which competes with other external IT support companies and corporations’ internal IT departments, is a Gold Certified Microsoft partner. Its strategic and proactive IT services include business continuity planning, hosted services, Web-application development, cloud services, email and spam protection and VoIP, among others.
Founded in January 2010, Atrion SMB reported annual revenue of $5,075,00 at the close of their 2014 fiscal year (June 30), up 118 percent from June 20, 2011, revenue of $2.33 million. Next year, Norberg anticipates earning revenue of approximately $6.7 million, and expanding into new geographic markets; the company now serves clients throughout Rhode Island and in parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Norberg credited the company’s “very strong management team and team members” for its expansive growth. “We had three people in 2010 and now we have 26,” said Norberg. “[We’ve] grown rapidly over last four years … constant evolution, hiring the right people and helping the people [we] have evolve to next level.”
A community-minded business, Atrion SMB reports affiliations with several nonprofit and business organizations, including, among others, Bailey’s Team for Autism, Junior Achievement, the Smaller Business Association of New England Inc. and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
