PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Manufacturing Association has announced “Best Practices” would be the focus of this year’s Manufacturing Industry Partnership Symposium.

The trade group expects about 250 manufacturing representatives to attend the March 9 conference at Rhode Island College, which will focus on how businesses should be using the best practices possible when it comes to workforce development, according to the announcement. The event will comprise breakout sessions in areas including training and credentials; recruitment and partnerships; hiring: challenges and barriers; state-sponsored programs; and the “Dream it. Do it Program.” The breakout sessions include panel discussions, question and answer sessions, and distribution of collateral materials, according to RIMA.

The keynote speaker this year is Jennifer McNelly, president of the National Manufacturing Institution in Washington, D.C.

Hosted by RIMA, the symposium also lists the Governor’s Workforce Board as a sponsor.
