For the many opportunities there are to make a difference.

Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?

I see myself at Newport Hospital. … [It] has been very good to me and my family in the past, and so I feel an obligation to be the best that I can be at this facility.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?

I was told by my first nursing leader to continue pursuing my education at a young age to allow me more opportunities in the future.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

Work hard, but enjoy the good times.

What is your favorite escape or hobby?

I enjoy plenty of activities, but my favorite would be playing or watching sports such as baseball, basketball, football and hockey.

How do you keep a work-life balance?

Raising an 8-year-old son is not easy, so once I pick him up from day care every day, I devote time to him.

What one thing in your professional life would you like a do-over on?

I would not change anything professionally as it has made me the leader that I am today. •
