Mass. posts job loss for first time in 7 months

BOSTON – Although the Massachusetts unemployment rate remained at six percent in June, the state’s economy posted its first job losses since November, reported The Boston Globe.

Preliminary estimates, reported the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development Thursday morning, showed that Massachusetts lost 2,600 jobs in June, the first monthly job loss in seven months.

The executive office reported that the Bay State has added 32,700 jobs year-to-date, according to the news source.
