Mayor-elect Elorza announces transition team

PROVIDENCE – Mayor-elect Jorge Elorza on Monday announced that Lisa Ranglin, Victor Capellan and Sally Lapides are the co-chairs of his transition team.
He also announced that his former campaign manager, Marisa O’Gara, will serve as his transition spokesperson.
In the next few days, the transition team will launch the website, TransitionPVD.com, which will serve as a place where Providence residents can get the latest news and information on things the transition team is working on.
The website also will be regularly updated to provide information on the latest events and opportunities for residents to meet with Elorza during his “Listen During Transition” tour.
“I’m grateful to have such respected community leaders co-chairing my transition,” Elorza said in a statement. “Lisa Ranglin, Victor Capellan and Sally Lapides have long and diverse experience serving our community, and I look forward to working with them closely to ensure a smooth transition that includes the voices of residents from every community and constituency in Providence.”
As transition co-chairs, Ranglin, Capellan and Lapides will help organize a series of “Listen During Transition” forums. The forums will engage residents to identify challenges and opportunities that will help guide the administration’s policy priorities. The co-chairs will also oversee several community-led advisory teams.
Ranglin is a vice president at Bank of America. She also is founder and president of the Rhode Island Black Business Association, a nonprofit organization in Providence dedicated to enhancing the growth and economic development of black and minority-owned businesses.
Capellan is an educational consultant for Mass Insight Education. He recently served as superintendent of transformation for Central Falls High School where he helped increase the graduation rate from 48 percent to 74 percent.
Lapides is president and CEO of Residential Properties Ltd., a residential-real-estate firm which she co-founded in 1981.
