Mechanics gives $5K to Pro-Home

TAUNTON – Mechanics Cooperative Bank said this month that it recently supplied the third $5,000 installment of its $15,000, three-year funding commitment to Pro-Home Inc.

Pro-Home Inc. is a nonprofit organization established for the production and protection of affordable housing in the Bristol County community. Its mission is exclusively for educational and charitable purposes, and aims to produce and advocate for the production of affordable housing, prevent loss of or displacement from existing housing, eliminate discrimination and bring together diverse groups to aggressively work towards housing solutions.
Overall, Pro-Home serves eleven communities throughout southeastern Massachusetts offering assistance to first time home buyers with down payment and closing cost support, as well as credit and debt counseling, and pre- and post-foreclosure services. Pro-Home Inc. is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association, Fannie Mae, Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corp. and the MASS Housing Partnership.
