Mechanics launches Investment Group, Chretien named consultant

TAUNTON – Mechanics Cooperative Bank has launched the Mechanics Investment Group and appointed Glen A. Chretien as financial consultant, the bank announced March 19.
The investment group was established to complement the bank’s current banking services and expand product and investment options for customers.
“This new investment group allows our customer base the option to choose their long-term investment strategy and plan for retirement, to be more dynamic in their investment approach and be sure they have the right information to make the best possible decisions – that is our vision for this group,” said Mechanics Cooperative Bank President and CEO Joseph T. Baptista Jr.
Chretien has 20 years of experience in banking, on both the sales and management side of multi-million dollar investment portfolios. His experience includes positions with both Sovereign Bank and Citizens Bank investment groups.
