PROVIDENCE – Meeting Street, a nonprofit that works to support educational and developmental needs of some 3,000 children and their families each year, recently received eight works of original art from the Art Connection-RI, which takes donated art and matches it with a Rhode Island nonprofit organization for permanent installation.
Meeting Street volunteers and staff worked with Art Connection to select pieces from 70 choices. The artwork will be located in several public places throughout Meeting Street’s Providence building.
“Meeting Street is honored that we have been chosen by Art Connection. The artwork is fantastic and we are excited to have this relationship with a great organization like the Art Connection-RI,” said John Kelly, president of Meeting Street, in a statement. “These original pieces will really brighten our building.”
Meeting Street carries out is mission by offering support and services to children of all abilities from pre-birth to age 21. Eight-five percent of child clients are younger tha 6 years old.
