WASHINGTON – U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Karen Mills will leave her post according to the Associated Press.

Mills has been heading up the SBA - which arranges loans, loan guarantees and other assistance to small businesses – since 2009.

In a release from the White House, President Barack Obama said Mills played a role in making it easier for small businesses “to interact with the federal government by reducing paperwork and cutting through red tape.”

Mills was the latest of Obama’s executive branch officials to depart, joining Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, among others.
