Missry named R.I. Elementary School Principal of the Year

PROVIDENCE – Denise Missry, Asa Messer Elementary School principal, has been named the Rhode Island Association of School Principals’ 2016 Elementary Principal of the Year.

Missry, of Providence, will be recognized at an award ceremony on May 18 hosted by RIASP.
Missry “radiates a contagious energy to support students to reach their fullest potential and overcome barriers placed in their way,” according to a news release from RIASP.
Said Providence Schools Superintendent Christopher Maher, “Denise has extensive learning and practical administrative experience inclusive of developing school improvement plans, curricular frameworks and professional development sessions that directly impact classroom practice for teachers and colleagues.”
She has been in the position at Asa Messer for 15 years.
