Motl promoted to head of commercial banking at Webster Bank

WATERBURY, Conn. – Webster Bank last week promoted Christopher Motl to executive vice president and head of commercial banking.

Motl, previously vice president of middle-market banking, will now lead all lines of the bank’s commercial banking business. He also becomes a member of the executive management committee, and was promoted to executive vice president of Webster Financial Corp., according to a press release.

“Chris’ promotion recognizes his strong leadership and exceptional business performance. Since joining Webster, Chris’ ability to acquire and develop profitable relationships and to manage high-performing teams has enabled him to build a highly successful, competitively differentiating platform in middle-market banking,” said John Ciulla, president of Webster, in a statement.

Motl joined the bank in 2004 and was promoted to executive vice president in 2015.
