Mount Hope High students recognized as ‘financial scholars’

MIDDLETOWN – Mount Hope High School students who completed the Rhode Island Financial Scholars Program have been recognized by General Treasurer Gina Raimondo.
The Rhode Island Financial Scholars Program, sponsored by People’s Credit Union, uses the EverFi online program, which is aligned to state standards. The 10 modules cover topics such as budgeting, credit scores, insurance, student loans, mortgages, taxes, saving and investing.
People’s Credit Union sponsors several schools throughout the state, at no cost to the participating schools.
“Educating today’s youth on financial literacy is a priority at People’s Credit Union. It’s
extremely important to learn the value of money at a young age and we are happy to provide a program that can do that,” said People’s Credit Union President & CEO Ellen Ford at the May 3 recognition.
