WEST WARWICK – WJAR-TV NBC 10 and Cox Communications have joined forces to launch Ocean State Networks – a channel that will air NBC 10 newscasts throughout the day and night as well as Cox Sports programming.
OSN, which is available exclusively to Cox customers, includes live local high school and collegiate sports events. The channel made its formal debut on May 2.
“It is exciting to be part of this project,” said Vic Vetters, WJAR-TV NBC 10 general manager. “NBC 10 News is the market leader when it comes to local news and we pride ourselves in being everywhere for our viewers”
“We’re on mobile devices, on the web, on social networks and now, with the addition of OSN, our viewers can access NBC 10 on Cox when the time is convenient for them,” added Vetters.
OSN is available on Cox channel 5 and in high definition on channel 1005.
“Cox is committed to providing the local programming that our customers want, and NBC 10 is the perfect partner for local news content,” said Paul Cronin, senior vice president and general Manager at Cox New England.
“With the inclusion of live Cox Sports programming like Providence College and University of Rhode Island basketball andPawtucket Red Sox baseball, Ocean State Networks is the best source for Rhode Island news and sports,” added Cronin.
