NEIT to host Pixar animation workshop

EAST GREENWICH – The New England Institute of Technology will serve as the only regional location for Pixar Animation Studios’ “Masterclass in Animation and Story Development,” a two-day workshop on Oct. 12-13 at the school’s campus.
The workshop will be led by Pixar Animation Studios, a subsidiary of Walt Disney Pictures, professionals Andrew Gordon and Matthew Luhn.
New England Institute of Technology will be one of six North American stops, joining those in Chicago, Seattle, Miami, Toronto and Vancouver.
Gordon and Luhn will give participants insight on tools needed to help create original stories and feature-quality animation. The workshop is targeted for professionals across all experience levels, including animators, character designers and artists, writers, filmmakers, cartoonists, software developers and educators.
Gordon has been with Pixar since 1997 and has been an animator on films including “A Bug’s Life,” “Finding Nemo,” and “The Incredibles.”
Luhn has been with Pixar since 1992 and has worked in the story development department storyboarding on “Toy Story 2,” “Toy Story 3,” “Monsters Inc.” and “Cars” among other films. &#8226
