RIBGH announces Healthy Weight Challenge

Posted 3/18/13

PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Business Group on Health is encouraging Rhode Island employers to participate in its inaugural Healthy Weight Challenge, a friendly competition to businesses to reap the rewards associated with a healthy workforce.

The program will collect aggregate body mass index data from employees in early 2013 and then again in early 2014. The goal is to see a 2 percent decrease in participants’ aggregate BMI over the course of the year.

All participating employers will receive a free resource guide containing local and national services to assist their employees in healthy lifestyle changes.

Winners of the challenge will be announced in June 2014. Each winner from the small, medium, and large employer categories will receive public recognition and prizes.

To learn more about the Healthy Weight Challenge, visit www.ribgh.org or contact Robin Bouvier or Jean Tapley at (800) 606-1384 – Ext 12.
