NOAA’s chief scientist to speak at REDay

SMITHFIELD – Kathryn D. Sullivan, the first American woman to walk in space, will be the keynote speaker at Bryant University’s Research and Engagement Day on April 18.

REDay features more than 100 presentations and posters showcasing work being done by Bryant University researchers and affiliates.

Presentations range from global warming to Chinese history, but include over a dozen technology-focused topics.

Sullivan’s talk, which is free and open to the public, will discuss earth observation and prediction and her experiences as a scientist, explorer and astronaut.

Bryant University has canceled classes through 5:00 p.m. on April 18 so that faculty, staff and students can participate in the second annual REDay.

Sullivan’s presentation will begin at 4:00 p.m. in Bryant University’s Janikes Theater.
