Narragansett Brewing moving to Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET – Narragansett Brewing Co. CEO Mark Hellendrung is making good on longstanding plans to bring the brew back to Rhode Island, partnering with the owners of The Guild on a new craft-brewing consortium.

Hellendrung, who grew up in East Providence, told The Valley Breeze he’s excited to return to his roots and contribute to a flourishing local craft-beer scene. Nearly all of Narragansett’s beers are now produced out of state.

Narragansett’s offices will move next week from 60 Ship St. in Providence to The Guild, at 461 Main St. in Pawtucket.

It was reported last September that Hellendrung was looking to join Jeremy Duffy, Devin Kelly and their Isle Brewers Guild at the Kellaway Center, now known as just The Guild.

The announcement earlier this month gives new credibility to Duffy’s claim that the brewery could attract some 50,000 visitors in its first year in operation.

Duffy and team envision a “farmers market” food and beverage campus of sorts for “entrepreneurs, businesses and culture,” said Hellendrung.

The owners of the Isle Brewers Guild purchased the Kellaway Center for $1.25 million last November. •
