Neighborhood Health Station, providing primary medical, dental and behavioral health care, opens in Scituate

SCITUATE – The Scituate Neighborhood Health Station held its official opening with a ribbon-cutting Nov. 14. The facility, located at 35 Village Plaza Way, in North Scituate, represents the shared collaboration of WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care – a health center providing comprehensive dental, medical and behavioral health services in several Rhode Island communities – and the Scituate Health Alliance – a nonprofit organization focusing on creating healthy communities through local, affordable and accessible care, according to a WellOne statement.
In addition to the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, the event included comments from Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care President and CEO Peter Bancroft and Scituate Health Alliance President Jack Marchant, among other guests.
Licensed as an organized ambulatory care facility by the Rhode Island Department of Health, the Station becomes the fourth WellOne site in Rhode Island. Laboratory services will be provided by Lifespan and most major insurance plans are accepted; special payment plans will be available for uninsured and underinsured individuals who quality for financial help, WellOne reported.
The statement identified funding sources for the $1.2 million facility: WellOne’s equity contribution and grants from the Health Resources and Services Administration, the RIGHA Fund of the Rhode Island Foundation, the June Rockwell Levy Foundation and the Delta Dental of Rhode Island Fund. Construction and equipment financing came from Citizens Bank.
