NetCenergy hosting cybersecurity event

CRANSTON – NetCenergy, an information-technology services firm, is hosting a free cybersecurity informational session on March 14 at its Pontiac Avenue headquarters.
Attendees will learn the steps to take and questions to ask if their business is the victim of a cyberattack. They also will learn how to develop a Business Continuity Disaster Recovery Plan; this allows businesses to know who to contact in case of an emergency, and what needs to happen to ensure the loss of data and downtime is minimal.

“Companies need to understand that there needs to be a BCDR plan in place before the cyber crisis occurs,” Peter Nelson, vice president of engineering at NetCenergy, said in a statement. “If your company would not know what to do in the event of an emergency, then you are not prepared. It is crucial to have a proactive versus a reactive solution. Many cyber presentations include people talking and covering different causes, but our event is a tangible training where attendees walk away with what they need to establish a BCDR plan.”

The event is open to professionals in Rhode Island, and surrounding areas are invited. RSVP by clicking HERE.

Breakfast will be served at the session; registration takes place between 8:30-9 a.m., with the workshop slated for 9-10:30 a.m.
