WARREN – A new ownership group that operates several direct-selling companies has purchased Pure Haven Essentials, formerly known as Ava Anderson Non Toxic, for an undisclosed sum.
Bruce Jensen, owner of the company and partner with Global Ventures Partners, said in a telephone interview on Wednesday that the group was drawn to the firm’s mission to provide nontoxic products.
“It’s really important to us to build on it,” Jensen said.
Jensen said the buyout of the Anderson family was completed on Aug. 1.
Joseph Ochoa, company CEO, said the business will continue to operate out of its 110,000-square-foot Warren facility and will retain the current number of employees, which totals 55 full timers. The company also has approximately 10,000 independent consultants around the country.
“There will be no change in the mission nor in the products,” Ochoa said, adding only that Pure Haven plans to add more items to its line of organic and nontoxic products.
Jensen said the company is working toward obtaining organic certification for its manufacturing facility from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
In March and December, the company was the subject of complaints filed to the USDA. The December complaint had to do with the marketing of its Essential Oil product as organic in violation of USDA rules. The company took corrective action and “modified its labels” to comply with the law.
Jensen, who lives in Utah, said the new ownership group was “especially enamored” with the mission and the impact that Pure Haven Essentials has on individual families by offering products that remove harmful chemicals from their lives. Ochoa, of Phoenix, said he also was attracted to the company’s message, which he called an “important” one.
“We’re on the cusp of seeing some big change here,” Ochoa said.
The Andersons, who will not have any role in the new company, said in a statement that they are pleased with the new ownership, and described Global Ventures Partners as a “team of experienced and caring, direct- sales veterans.”
Jensen said he won’t be involved in day-to-day management, but will provide strategic guidance. He, along with Rudy Revak, Mary Julich and Steve Kole operate Global Ventures Partners, which owns direct- selling companies, including TuVous, which specializes in fashion accessories, and Symmetry Global, which offers nutrition products.
