Newport mansion sells for $16.1M with Delman

NEWPORT – The Fairholme estate, which sits on 4.3 acres with ocean frontage, closed for $16.1 million, according to data from the statewide Multiple Listing Service.

Melanie Delman of Lila Delman Real Estate International represented the seller and facilitated for the buyer, who chose to remain anonymous.

The 1875 Tudor revival is considered an architectural masterpiece. It includes a grand Horace Trumbauer-designed ballroom, a carriage house, greenhouses, a tiled swimming pool and a cabana pavilion that overlooks the Atlantic.

It sold for $15 million in July 2015, the No. 1 sale in the Ocean State that year.
