Nominations sought for PPS Preservation Awards

PROVIDENCE – The Providence Preservation Society is accepting nominations for the 2017 PPS Preservation Awards through Sept. 5.
Seven categories are included for construction projects. They include the Rehabilitation Award, Design Excellence Award, Small Preservation Project Award and Sustainability and Innovation Award. The Rehabilitation Award can recognize a project that involves a historic structure, interior or landscape.
Projects have to have been completed between Jan. 1, 2013, and Aug. 31, 2016.
Under Special Initiatives, the society categories include Community Involvement Award, Education Award and Public Sector Award. For consideration, a significant component of the work must have been completed between Jan. 1, 2013 and Aug. 31, 2016.
