JOHNSTON – The renovated office building at 1301 Atwood Ave. in the Northwoods Office Park has achieved LEED Gold certification for its interior fit-out, according to property owner and manager Hobbs Brook Management.
Both the interior of the building and the offices of major tenant, Dassault Systemes, have received the LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Originally constructed in 1972, the building has been almost completely remade through the work of Margulies Perruzzi Architects, of Boston, and general contractor Dimeo Construction. The work included a replacement of the original exterior and addition of 30,000 square feet to the building footprint.
A new metal and glass curtain wall was installed as the building’s new envelope, providing natural sunlight and high thermal efficiency, according to Hobbs Brook Management.
Approximately 70 percent of the building is leased, with tenants including Dassault Systemes and New York Life.
Additional members of the project team included: M/E/P Engineers, AHA Consulting Engineers, Odeh Engineers Inc., Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc., LEED consultants Richard Moore Environmental Consulting, HLB Lighting Design, Colburn & Guyette, and Lerch Bates. Cushman & Wakefield/Hayes & Sherry is the commercial broker representing the property.
