OSJL customers donate $47K to Station Fire Memorial Fund

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Through donations collected in stores throughout Rhode Island, and select locations in Connecticut and southeastern Massachusetts, Ocean State Job Lot donated $47,429 to The Station Fire Memorial Fund.

David Sarlitto, executive director of Ocean State Job Lot, said he is grateful to his customers for raising funds in support of the organization.

“As a Rhode Island-based business, we are keenly aware of how The Station nightclub tragedy affected the lives of so many people living here and throughout New England. We also understand how important this park is to friends and loved ones of victims and survivors, and wanted to lend our support,” he said.

The organization honors the memory of the 100 victims who perished in a fire at The Station nightclub 13 years ago. The foundation has procured the site of the former nightclub and set a $2 million fundraising goal to build a memorial there.
