LOS ANGELES – The Westerly-based Ocean House hotel and Oh! Spa earned slots on Forbes Travel Guide’s 2013 Star Awards, Forbes announced Tuesday.
The establishments join 17 other hotels, five restaurants and three spas that achieved a Forbes Five-Star Award for the first time in 2013.
The Ocean House is Rhode Island’s first five-star hotel, according to Forbes. The Oh! Spa is located in the Ocean House on Watch Hill in Westerly.
“We are delighted to see such outstanding commitment to service and to the traveling consumer by our 2013 award winners,” Michael Cascone, president and chief operating officer of Forbes Travel Guide, said in prepared remarks.
“We have four new markets represented this year with the coveted five-star hotel award – Beijing, Miami, Scottsdale and Watch Hill. We are deeply proud and honored to be associated with the winners in these markets, as well as with all of our world-class hotels, restaurants and spas,” added Cascone.
