NEWPORT – Lila Delman Real Estate International has listed “Ocean Lawn,” an estate overlooking the Cliff Walk once owned by Harvey S. Firestone, the son of the founder of Firestone Tire and Rubber.
The list price is $18.5 million.
Melanie Delman, president of the real estate company, described the mansion in a news release as meticulously maintained and sited on 6.5 acres, with 515 feet of ocean frontage. It includes 24 rooms and a children’s playhouse, according to a property description.
The structure was designed by Boston architect Peabody & Stearns in a Queen Anne style. The grounds were designed by Innocenti & Webel.
Firestone, along with his wife, Elizabeth Parke Firestone, purchased the property in the 1950s. The mansion was modified to include specialized closets to hold her couture clothing and glass collections. The entry gates and lights were custom-made for the Firestones in France.
