In the event of inclement weather, the press conference will be held at Revolution Restaurant & Bar, 2190 Broad St.

The SBA is partnering with the National Restaurant Association to encourage families who shop small to also “dine small” at local restaurants in the evening.
American Express launched the first Small Business Saturday four years ago on the day after Black Friday to encourage people across the country to support small, local businesses.

In an effort to promote Rhode Island small businesses and their contributions to the local and national economy, U.S. Rep. David N. Cicilline said he will tour a series of Rhode Island small business on Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29.

“Our small business community is the engine that drives our national and local economy and this is especially true in Rhode Island where small business owners strengthen our communities as job creators, neighbors and community leaders,” Cicilline said in a statement. “We should always support local entrepreneurs, but I’m especially looking forward to shopping at small businesses across the state on Small Business Saturday to encourage Rhode Islanders to buy local this holiday season.”
Cicilline co-sponsored a resolution to urge the U.S. House of Representatives to formally designate Nov. 29 as “Small Business Saturday,” and support efforts to increase awareness of the value of locally owned small businesses and encourage consumers to shop locally .

This is the third year Cicilline will have visited entrepreneurs around the state as part of Small Business Saturday.
