For 10 weeks Robert Landergren was laid up recuperating from a fractured heel. Rather than dwell in self-pity, he thought about what he really wanted to do with his career moving forward.
“One of the things I thought about was getting back into producing …wanting to write, direct, create something,” he said.
The one-time freelance TV sports producer in September established Dark Hill Entertainment, a Providence-based, music-video production business.
As owner and operator, he oversees everything from researching new music to drafting budgets, interviewing potential cast and orchestrating video shoots involving a cast and crew totaling more than 40 people.
“When you’re producing, a million things can go wrong and some of them will, you’re always having to think on your feet and problem-solve,” he said.
Landergren’s goal is to make Rhode Island “the home base of production, sourcing local talent,” he said. •
