PACE names Gyurmey medical affairs VP

PROVIDENCE – PACE Organization of Rhode Island recently promoted Dr. Tsewang Gyurmey to vice president of medical affairs.
Since joining PACE in 2012, Gyurmey has served as a primary care physician and geriatrician in the medical clinic. In the new role, he will direct patient care and provide administrative oversight of PACE’s medical program.
Gyurmey began his career as a volunteer medical doctor at the Tibetan Self Help Refugee Center and the Tibetan Geriatric Clinic and Extended Care in Darjeeling, India. He graduated from the Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University and completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Connecticut, St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Conn., as well as a residency in internal medicine at Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University.
In 2012, Gyurmey completed a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Connecticut, and a structural acupuncture course for physicians through Harvard Medical School. •
