WARWICK – Seven hundred of the region’s business leaders celebrated themselves and oftentimes their competitors at Providence Business News’ 10th Best Places To Work event Wednesday evening at the Crowne Plaza Garden Pavilion.
The competition recognizes companies in the region of all sizes for having progressive human resources policies as well as engaged and satisfied employees. PBN presents the results of the program, which is conducted by Best Companies Group, a national research firm that sets a benchmark for HR policies and then conducts anonymous surveys of companies that commit to the program to see if the companies live up to the standards they set.
This year 55 companies were recognized as winners in four size categories based on the number of employees they have in the region. The winners in the four groupings were:

  • Enterprise-level employers (500 or more employees) – Amgen Inc.
  • Large employers (150-499 employees) – Navigant Credit Union
  • Mid-size employers (50-149 employees) – Hinckley Allen & Snyder LLP
  • Small employers (15-49 employees) – Robinson & Cole

In addition to revealing the rankings of the 55 winners at the event, PBN awarded four on-site massage sessions donated by Massage Envy based on the amount of spirit the companies showed when their names were introduced during a video played during the event. Banneker Industries Inc., Barton Gilman LLP, PACE Organization of RI and Pet Food Experts Inc. won the three-hour sessions.
The PBN special section that includes profiles of all the companies honored will be available in next week’s edition of PBN.
Presenting sponsor for the 2015 Best Places To Work program was UnitedHealthcare, while partner sponsors were Cox Business, JobsinRI.com and Pawtucket Credit Union.
