PROVIDENCE – PVDFest, Providence’s celebration of art, music, food, performance and more, will return for its third edition June 1-4.
Mayor Jorge O. Elorza, the city’s Department of Art, Culture + Tourism, and founding creative partner FirstWorks on Thursday announced the return of the festival.
Artists and performers from the city and the globe will be present for the outdoor event. According to a press release from the city, the four-day event last June attracted more than 75,000 people from all over.
“PVDFest is the perfect example of our Creative Capital coming together to create, perform and display the amazing talent we have here in our neighborhoods to the whole world,” Elorza said in a statement. “We have had two very successful festivals in the past years and I look forward to this festival growing as our artists and performers explore new ways to transform our city into a stage.”
There will be a community meeting on Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. at the Providence Public Library, 150 Empire St., for those seeking information on getting involved with the festival.
