PROVIDENCE – The Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau celebrated its 20th anniversary Tuesday during its annual meeting, which saw the awarding of its annual Recognition of Service Excellence awards and other honorable designations to members of the tourism industry.

Providence and Warwick have experienced vast change over the past two decades, said Martha Sheridan, president and CEO of the nonprofit PWCVB.

“We are proud to have played a part in helping our state’s economy grow,” she added of the organization’s development of the arts and culinary scenes and support of the LGBT community as a driving tourism force for the capital city.

During the event Tuesday evening, Peter Conway, CEO of Conway Tours/Grey Line and a PWCVB board member since 1996, was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame.
