Panera Bread launches Holiday Gift Drive

CUMBERLAND – Twenty-eight Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Rhode Island, southeastern Massachusetts and Connecticut have launched an annual Holiday Gift Drive that runs through Dec. 12.
Customers participate by selecting a gift tag with a specific child’s first name on it at the counter, then purchase the suggested “wish list” items. Each gift tag features a different child, age and list of gifts, which must be brought to the manager of the bakery-cafe by Dec. 12 unwrapped and in a shopping or gift bag with the gift tag attached.
Cafes in Cranston, East Greenwich, Lincoln, Newport, Providence, Smithfield, Wakefield and Warwick, as well as North Attleboro, Plainville and Seekonk in Massachusetts are working with Children’s Friend based in Providence. Cafes in North Dartmouth, Mass., are partnering with Child & Family Services in New Bedford.
Other cafes and their partners are based in Greater Hartford and Eastern Connecticut.
Panera Bread/Howley Bread Group also maintains a partnership with Feeding America® where all donations collected through its cafes’ ongoing Panera Cares Community Breadbox™ Program will go directly to Feeding America member food banks. Customers may donate money at the register to support the food banks’ efforts to provide food to residents in need.
Panera Bread/Howley Bread Group also routinely donates all unsold bread and baked goods each night to local food pantries and other organizations that provide hunger relief through its Day-End Dough-Nation™ program.
All cafes are owned and operated by Panera Bread/Howley Bread Group.
