Patch Adams visits Kent Hospital

WARWICK – Physician, comedian, author, social activist and clown Patch Adams recently visited palliative care and oncology patients at Kent Hospital.

Dr. Adams is the founder of Gesundheit Institute for Holistic Medicine. Each year, he puts together a volunteer group assembled from all over the world to visit seriously ill patients in various countries. The volunteers dress as clowns in their effort to bring joy and humor to those they visit.

A 1998 movie, “Patch Adams,” based on Adams’ life and work, starred the late Robin Williams.
