AT&T recently sponsored a Veterans Day event with New England Patriot Devin McCourty at the Rhode Island National Guard Armory in Warwick to support “Operation Holiday Cheer,” which provides military troops with holiday care packages from Rhode Island residents and businesses.
During the event, AT&T donated 300 international calling cards and members of the public donated care packages for the project, which will be sent to troops serving overseas.
“Our sponsorship and our Veterans Day ‘thank you’ event with Devin McCourty is just one of the many ways AT&T supports members of our military. We’re committed to hiring military veterans at AT&T because we recognize that unemployment is a big issue facing returning veterans and we value the leadership and skills they acquire while serving our country,” said AT&T New England President Patricia Jacobs.
AT&T, along with a host of corporate and community sponsors, is a sponsor of Operation Holiday Cheer 2013, which is led by Rhode Island Lt. Governor Elizabeth H. Roberts in conjunction with the Rhode Island National Guard and Rhode Island’s Family Assistance Center. •
