PAWTUCKET – The Pawtucket Foundation will hold its 12th annual awards celebration Tuesday, recognizing three individuals who have made significant contributions to Pawtucket.

Alison Bologna of Shri Studio has been named Person of the Year.
“The 2015 Person of the Year is someone who gives of herself and breathes her mission ‘to illuminate downtown Pawtucket with positivity in the belief that yoga can be accessible to everyone and every-body.’ She and her team are successfully building community, one class at time,” the foundation’s description about Bologna states. Bologna is also a co-anchor for WJAR-TV NBC 10’s 5:30 and 7 p.m. newscasts as well as a member of the station’s Money Watchers team.
Karl Kozak and Pawtucket Credit Union will receive the Heritage Award, which recognizes an outstanding long-term commitment to the city and its residents. Kozak is president and CEO of the credit union.
“This year’s recipient has been at the helm for almost 24 years, leading a company that has been serving its members, in Pawtucket and southern Massachusetts, since 1928,” the foundation states about Kozak.

Deborah Cox and Public Archaeology Laboratory will receive the Special Distinction Award, which honors outstanding contributions in a particular aspect of the community.

“This year’s Special Distinction Award goes to Deborah Cox and the Public Archaeology Laboratory for their commitment to Pawtucket’s historic preservation and their outstanding reputation in the field of cultural resource management. Deborah and PAL successfully saved and restored the historic TK Club as their new company headquarters. Their work helps to celebrate what makes the Pawtucket downtown special,” the foundation states.
