BOOK SALE

Providence Community Library’s Knight Memorial Library branch will raise funds for its programs with a book sale from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 7. The Friends of Knight Memorial Library will be selling more than 4,000 donated books. The book sale is free to attend; all books on sale are $2 or less. EGG HUNT FUNDRAISER

Castle Hill Inn at 590 Ocean Drive, Newport, will host an Easter Egg Hunt to benefit local nonprofit Child & Family Services. The event will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 8th, and will cost $25 per child. The participating children will be able to search the grounds for hidden treasures, and one will win an overnight stay at the property. SCHOLAR DOLLARS DINNER

School One has scheduled its annual Scholar Dollars event for 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 12. The fundraiser will include dinner, student entertainment, a wine sale, raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the school’s financial aid program. Scholar Dollars will take place at the Fabre Line Club, 200 Allens Ave., Providence. Tickets are $50 per person. MS RHODE RACE & WALK

The Rhode Island Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host the third annual Run MS: 5K Rhode Race in conjunction with the 23rd annual Walk MS and the MS 25 Quick Ride bike event on the morning of Sunday, April 15. Walk MS registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with walking at 9 a.m. at three sites (Bristol, Narragansett and Providence). Check-in for the Rhode Race (at the Bristol site) is at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. The Quick Ride will be held alongside the Narragansett Walk MS event. Cost: no fee to participate in Walk MS; $25 fee for Run MS before April 11, $30 day of race; $50 fee for MS 25 Quick Ride. Participants are encouraged to fundraise for these events. BLACK & WHITE GALA

Festival Ballet Providence will host Black & White (In Color): A Gala Celebration from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20. Providence Mayor Angel Taveras will serve as honorary chair of the event, which will include food, wine, live music, dancing, an auction and a performance by Festival Ballet artists. The gala will be held at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston. Attire is black and white. Tickets are $125 each, and can be purchased by visiting www.festivalballet.com.
