HALL OF FAME FUNDRAISER

The Blackstone River Theatre will host the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame Benefit Concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. Several local musicians are slated to perform, including duo JC-DC, Gary “Guitar” Gramolini and Longshot Voodoo. Tickets to the event are $12. INAUGURAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

Save The Bay will present its inaugural golf tournament starting at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 14. Participants will enjoy 18 holes of golf at the Carnegie Abbey Club, 125 Cory’s Lane, Portsmouth. Participants can register at 11 a.m., and will be served lunch before the 1 p.m. shotgun start. Following the tournament will be a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception at 5 p.m. Registration is $500 per individual or $2,000 per foursome; additional sponsorship opportunities available. PRESERVATION AWARDS

The Providence Preservation Society will present the 2012 Historic Preservation Awards from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15. The ceremony will take place at the Brown University Nelson Fitness Center, 235 Hope St., Providence. There will be preview tours of the fitness center prior to the 6 p.m. awards program and keynote address. A VIP reception will follow from 8 to 10 p.m. at the home of Barrett Bready, 24 Stimson Ave., Providence. Tickets are $40 each, or $100 VIP (includes VIP reception). ALUMNI INDUCTION

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence will host its 6th Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Reception and Induction Ceremony from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16. Light hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served during the event, which will honor the members of the 2012 Hall of Fame class. The ceremony will be held in the Budweiser Lounge on the third floor of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, 1 LaSalle Square, Providence. WOMEN’S RIDE

The inaugural Rhode Island Women’s Ride to benefit the U.S. Open Cycling Foundations and Rhode Island Women’s Fund will be hosted by the U.S. Open Cycling Foundation on Saturday, May 19 (rain date Sunday, May 20). Participants can choose from a 100 km loop (8:15 a.m. departure), 50 km loop (9:30 a.m. departure) or a bicycle tour of Providence architecture (10 a.m. departure), all starting and ending at Roger Williams National Memorial, North Main St., Providence. Registration fees are $75 for the 50 km and 100 km rides; $45 architecture tour. Participants can add on an annual VeloClub membership for an additional$25. AN EVENING WITH VIOLA

Community Preparatory School will present An Evening with Viola Davis from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 23. The event is cocktail attire, and will include hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. An Evening with Viola Davis will be held at The Squantum Association, 947 Veterans Memorial Parkway, East Providence.
