AMERICA’S CUP PRESENTATION

Rocky Hill School will host an informational lecture on the America’s Cup from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22. America’s Cup Then & Now will be presented by Brad Read, chair of the America’s Cup World Series Rhode Island Host Committee and executive director of Sail Newport, and Dyer Jones, member of the Rhode Island Host Committee and CEO of the Herreshoff Marine Museum. CHARITY GALA

United Methodist Elder Care Communities will present its Sunset Gala from 5:30 p.m. to midnight on Friday, June 1. The event will take place at The Dunes Club, 137 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Guests will be able to enjoy music by Brother to Brother, hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner, a signature cocktail and silent and live auctions. CHAMBER DINNER & DANCE

The Wickford Heels & Wheels Gala and Auction will be held on Friday, June 1, to benefit the Rhode Island National Guard, Soldiers and Airmen Emergency Relief Fund and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The event will last from 6 to 11 p.m. at Wickford Town Beach, 15 Beach St., North Kingstown. LEUKEMIA CUP REGATTA

The Rhode Island chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will present the 18th annual Leukemia Cup Regatta on Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2. The festivities begin with a reception and live auction 6 p.m. on Friday at the New York Yacht Club’s Harbor Court, 5 Halidon Ave., Newport. The regatta will take place on Saturday at noon, followed by a post-race barbecue and awards ceremony. Tickets are $60 for the reception and auction. $35 for the barbecue and ceremony. PROVIDENCE 5K WALK/RUN

Shape Up RI and Girls on the Run Rhode Island are partnering to host the Providence 5K Walk/Run at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 2. All are welcome to participate in the event, which starts at The Temple to Music at Roger Williams Park, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence. There is a $25 registration fee until May 31, $30 race day; fee is waived for employees of companies participating in Shape Up RI). DENTAL HEALTH CLINIC

The Rhode Island Oral Health Foundation is seeking volunteers for its inaugural Mission of Mercy free dental health clinic, taking place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, and Sunday, June 3. In addition to general dentists, oral surgeons, pediatric dentists and other medical professionals, there is a need for community volunteers to help with crowd control/parking, food and beverage service, interpreting, patient registration and more, in addition to set-up from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 1. The dental health clinic will be held at the Community College of Rhode Island’s Flanagan Campus, 1762 Louisquisset Pike, Lincoln.
