LADIES NIGHT FOR CHILDREN’S WISHES

Children’s Wishes will host its third annual ladies night Friday, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. The event is an evening of free appetizers, wine tastings, massages, manicures and more. Attendees will take home gift bags, and can enter raffles or receive a tarot card reading during the event. All proceeds will benefit Children’s Wishes, which grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical illnesses. The event will be held at Sweetsource Dinner Club, 190 Exchange St., Pawtucket. ST. VINCENT’S MOTORCYCLE RUN

ST. Vincent’s will hold its seventh annual motorcycle run and raffle at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19. Riders will depart for a 50-mile bike ride from Saint Vincent’s, 2425 Highland Ave., Fall River. Participants will be escorted by Fall River Police as they travel the scenic back roads of Freetown and Dartmouth. Upon return, a cookout, raffles and a silent auction will be held. Raffle items include wine tastings, jewelry, destination packages and more. Trophies will be awarded for favorite bikes. Those interested can register in advance or on the day of the ride. Advance registration: $20 drivers, $15 active military and veterans, $10 for passenger. Day-of registration: $25 drivers, $20 active military and veterans, $10 passengers. AN EVENING ON THE RIVERFRONT

The Pawtucket Foundation will hold a fundraiser, An Evening on the Riverfront, Thursday, Aug. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Central Falls Landing, 45 Madeira Ave., Pawtucket. The event will celebrate summer with live music, cocktails and dinner featuring clam cakes and chowder. Guests are also invited to take a riverboat tour aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer. Raffles will be held for gift certificates to area restaurants and other businesses. Tickets: $30 per person, includes dinner, cocktails and boat tour. COUNTRY CLUB CONCERT

The Country Club of New Bedford will host the international touring band Brass Transit Friday, Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. Brass Transit is known for singing the hits of Chicago’s golden ages, with accompaniment by its horn section. Band members include veterans from acts like the Drifters, Aretha Franklin, Frankie Valli and the Mamas and the Papas. The show will be held outdoors on the grounds of the country club, 585 Slocum Road, North Dartmouth. For each ticket sold, $20 will go to the center. All funds raised will be matched by an anonymous donor. Those who mention the Schwartz Center while making reservations will receive a guest pass for 18 holes of golf at the country club. 5K RUN/WALK FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Rhode Island Realtors will host the second annual Home Run 5K walk/run on Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Quonset Officers Club, 200 Lt. James Brown Road, North Kingstown. Proceeds from the event will support Habitat for Humanity. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk/run will begin at 10 a.m. A barbecue brunch and awards ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to top three male and female finishers. Additional prizes will be awarded to different age groups. The 3.1-mile race will be timed and scored. Registration: $20 in advance, $25 day of; includes race and brunch.
