PAR FOR A CAUSE GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Junior League of Rhode Island will host “Par for a Cause,” a charity golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Triggs Memorial Golf Course, 1533 Chalkstone Ave., Providence. The scramble-format tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. The day also includes a Texas-style barbecue, a putting contest and awards for winning teams. COASTAL CLEANUP AT LOCAL BEACHES

The Audubon Society of Rhode Island invites volunteers to participate in area beach cleanups from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 15. Part of the International Coastal Cleanup, workers will bring work gloves and trash bags to collect trash and document their findings. Data collected is published in an annual report. FOSTER PARROTS OUTDOOR GALA

Foster Parrots, a parrot rescue organization, will host its fifth annual fall fundraising gala at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16 at the New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary in Hope Valley at 87 Woodville Alton Road, Hopkinton. The outdoor, tented event will feature a champagne welcome reception with an open wine and beer bar, a vegetarian buffet and sanctuary tours. There will be performances by the Adam Ezra Group and Jennifer Matthews. Guests may also take part in a silent auction and raffle. Tickets: $65, must be purchased in advance. PROVIDENCE ROTARY PAINT OFF

The Providence Rotary Club will sponsor the second annual Providence Rotary Paint Off from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Providence Art Club, 11 Thomas St., Providence. Attendees will bid on paintings created by artists within two hours during the same day. The event includes food, a cash bar and admission to the auction. The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council will hold its 27th annual dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Twin River Entertainment Center, 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln.
